Document Preparation |
| |
Whether you are scanning
from film or paper the first step to insure high
quality images and proper handling of your data
is document preparation.
Paper document preparation usually consists of removing
staples, paper clips, rubber bands, brads, or other
types of binders. Thorough document preparation
is vital to minimizing scanner jams and double feeds,
which occur when two sheets are fed at the same
time and are scanned as one. Non-paper media undergo
cleaning and dusting to prevent foreign matter from
corrupting the data.

Imaging |
| |
Document imaging includes
many critical aspects of the scanning process. There
are many criteria to consider when scanning documents
such as image density, Color, Grayscale or Bitonal.
We will help you evaluate your final products needs
to determine the best imaging criteria.

Image Enhancement |
| |
Document imaging often
introduces imperfections, borders and skew to the
raw output images. Most of these imperfections can
be removed through automated computer processed
performed during image enhancement.

Process Quality Control |
| |
Whenever possible
within a conversion process, Annapolis Technologies
International uses technology to replace the labor
intensive quality control processes.
When bar code separator sheets
are used in document processing, we utilize a
quality control process to verify that each bar
code has been read by the system. Since we produced
the bar codes, we know which ones we should find
in each batch. Even the best bar code readers
on the market will miss a small percentage of
them, just as the bar code reader at the grocery
store will miss some. Our quality process verifies
that the number of captured bar codes matches
the list of known bar codes. Human intervention
is only required if the lists do not match.
Annapolis Technologies International uses a proprietary
process control system to ensure that each and
every page given us for scanning is scanned. Our
quality control process is very efficient and
powerful. We record the number of pages scanned,
then verify the process by using a page count
machine to verify that the number of pages scanned
are equal. We use the best production scanners
and counters on the market. Using high quality
equipment to work at production speeds enables
us to do high quality work at very competitive
prices.
